It includes components from Muslim customary/common law, Ottoman, British, Jordanian, Egyptian law, Israeli military law, and the Palestinian Authority’s Basic Law. Additionally, there are “traditional” Arabic Rights that reflect these laws. The applicable laws depend on the specific region of Palestine, whether in Israeli-controlled areas, the Gaza Strip, or the Palestinian Authority-controlled West Bank.
For instance, the Gaza Strip’s legal system is largely shaped by Egyptian law, while Jordanian law influences the West Bank.
